R500 000 drilling machine, unlicensed firearms recovered during Limpopo police operations

Recent intelligence driven joint operations conducted from yesterday until this morning by various police units throughout the province has yielded positive results, says the police.

LIMPOPO – Meanwhile in the Jane Furse and Tolwe areas, the Provincial Drug Unit, Jane Furse Detectives, Crime Intelligenence, Jane Furse Crime Prevention and Tolwe Detectives, conducted parallel operations where two suspects were arrested for possession of unlicensed firearms

During the operation two firearms, two magazines, four rounds of ammunition and one holster were recovered.

The suspects aged 46 and 25-years-old will appear before the Jane Furse and Mokopane Magistrate Courts soon and police investigations are still continuing.

Meanwhile during a joint operation in the in Burgersfort area, conducted by the Burgersfort Detectives and the Crime Intelligence, a 27-year-old man was arrested for possession of suspected stolen property.

During the arrest a drilling machine to the value of  R500 000 was confiscated. Preliminary investigations have revealed that this machine was stolen at Dwars River mine and more arrests are expected.

The suspect will appear before the Burgersfort Magistrate’s Court soon.
