Lim teams struggle to keep their places on the log

Mamelodi Sundowns continued their winning streak in the MultiChoice Diski Challenge and extended their lead to four points after Saturday’s humdinger of a match.

POLOKWANE – The Brazilians walloped Ajax Cape Town 3-2 to earn three points at Tsakane Stadium in Brakpan this past weekend.

Both teams aimed to earn three points but Masandawana proved to be the better team during this match-up. Sundowns opened the scoring line first with Samuel Julies netting a beautiful goal in the second minute of the first half.

Ajax came back to the party after an equalizing goal by Neo Makua.

Sundown found the back of the net in the first three minutes of the second half thanks to Motjeka Madisha but Ajax’s Tashreeq Morris ensured the playing field stayed level as he scored a goal minutes after Madisha.

Julies came to Sundowns’ rescue in the 84th minute with the goal that secured the team a win.

The two Limpopo outfits, Baroka FC and Polokwane City could not secure wins in their matches against Maritzburg United and Bloemfontein Celtics respectively. All three these matches ended with a score of 3-2.

Bidvest Wits and Golden Arrows drew 1-1 while Chippa United snatched three points after defeating Free State Stars 3-1. Kaizer Chiefs also scooped three points after defeating Cape Town City 2-0. Supersport United and Platinum Stars drew 0-0 while Orlando Pirates defeated Highlands Park 2-1.
