We now have the chance to go out there and show the rest of the world that Polokwane and Limpopo, indeed, has talent.

POLOKWANE – Limpopo Impala Cricket team players, Katlego Sempe and Hector Ngobeni  have been chosen for the Titans Franchise Colts Team which will be participating at the Cricket South Africa Franchise Academy Colts Week in February 2017.

Lucky Mhlongo, Impalas manager, will also be joining as part of the coaching staff of the Titans Franchise Colts Team. Mhlongo says he is very happy about the academy week trip that is coming up.

He believes that the boys will make Polokwane and the rest of Limpopo extremely proud and represent the province well. Mhlongo says they will be going to play in Oudtshoorn on Friday, 20 January .and  are busy preparing for it.

“They both deserve to go play for the Academy week, they put a lot of effort whenever they play locally or outside Polokwane. The fact that they were chosen shows that there is talent in Limpopo as a whole. They are humble and dedicated players indeed. So what I can say to them is they should back their skills because I know they can .”

Katlego Sempe tells us that this is his third time going to play in the academy week, but it is going to be the first time playing under the Titans.

“I’m very overjoyed that I am able to represent the province because we haven’t really being noticed that much in terms of Cricket. We now have the chance to go out there and show the rest of the world that Polokwane and Limpopo, indeed, has talent,” he says.

Hector Ngobeni also feels ecstatic about the whole experience, saying he has been chosen to play at the academy before and this will be his second time playing under the Titans.

“I feel very honoured to have been one of the chosen ones among our team, because it is going to be an opportunity for me to show my talent and get exposure,” Hector explains.

Katlego and Hector each gave one another words of wisdom before they leave for the week.

Hector’s message to Katlego: “Keep being the person that you are and keep on playing like you always do.”

They both feel that motivating each other as team players encourages them to be better players every day.

Katlego’s words of encouragement to Hector: “You must use God’s given talent, the talent to glorify God.”
