#MatricResults2016 recount, re-mark: what you need to know

Matriculants who are not satisfied with their subject results for the National Senior Certificate, have until 19 January to register for a re-marking, re-checking or viewing of the script.

POLOKWANE – Application forms for rechecking or remarking of the examination scripts are available from schools or examination centres where the candidates sat for their exams.

Here is what it cost:

  • A re-check is R21
  • Re-mark is R92
  • Viewing is R172

Date of application is immediately after receiving their results and closing date is 19 January.

Candidates from no-fee schools and learners whose parents have applied and have been granted a concession on the payment of schools fees are exempted from payment of re-marking and rechecking fees.

Learners will also be able to register to write the supplementary examinations by applying at their schools or centres where they sat, by 19 January 2017.

Who may apply to register for the supplementary examination:

  • Candidates who have not met the minimum promotion and certification requirements, but who require a maximum of two subjects to obtain the NSC
  • Candidates who could not sit or finish the examination due to medical reasons, a death in the family or some other special reason, provided documentary evidence is provided, and
  • Candidates who do not satisfy the minimum higher education entry requirements higher education faculty requirements for a specific occupation with one subject, provided documentary evidence is provided.
