Six, including SAPS constable killed in R37 head-on crash
All deceased were burnt beyond recognition, says the police
LIMPOPO – Six people, including a police constable were killed in a head-on accident on the R37 (Polokwane -Burgersfort road) at around 02:00 this morning (Saturday).
According to a statement issued by Brigadier Motlafela Mojapelo, all deceased were burnt beyond recognition after two vehicles travelling in opposite directions collided head on.
“The collision took place just before Mashite intersection and both vehicles immediately caught fire,” he said.
He added; “two victims were in the vehicle that was traveling in the westerly direction (from Burgersfort to Lebowakgomo ) and four were in the second vehicle traveling in the easterly direction. The constable was driving the second vehicle.
The cause of the accident is not clear at this stage and a case of culpable homicide is being investigated, concluded Mojapelo.
