Two SANDF officers die in 3-truck accident

LIMPOPO – The police in Makhado are investigating a case of culpable homicide after two members of the South African National Defence Force died during a collision involving three trucks.

The accident happened along the N1 next to Hartleigh, 46km North of Louis Trichardt, according to Police Brigadier Motlafela Mojapelo.

“It is alleged the two trucks of which one is military truck, were travelling south towards Louis Trichardt when the third ruck, a Hyno truck, traveling northwards lost control and collided with the two,” said Mojapelo.

“One of the deceased was declared dead on the scene, the other died shortly after arriving at the hospital,” he explained.

Police investigations continue.
