Municipality on repair mission after storm

The storm, which flooded streets, was also associated with strong winds that ripped of tree branches which fell on electrical cables and street lights.

POLOKWANE – Residents in the city need to bear in mind after yesterday afternoon’s storm, the municipality’s electrical and parks divisions had their hands full with repair work on electrical cables, street lights and cutting tree branches away.

The storm, which flooded streets, was also associated with strong winds that ripped of tree branches which fell on electrical cables and street lights.

Review was called out to a scene in General Smit Street in Welgelegen where residents in this area had been left without power after the raging storm wind ripped of a branch which fell on a streetlight. It also took down the electrical cables.

As Review’s journalist was busy photographing the damage, the municipality arrived to assess the damage. The municipal workers who did not want to be mentioned nor photographed, explained they’ve been busy repairing damages all over the city since yesterday.
