PRR honours their athletes
In an endeavour to honour their athletes for all their hard work, the Polokwane Road Runners (PRR) recently hosted their prize-giving ceremony.
POLOKWANE -The event was hosted at the Pietersburg Bowls Club and for the first time since its inception. It was not just the athletes who were awarded with trophies, this year the sponsors also received a special thank you from the club.
PRR Chairperson, Corlinda Potgieter, said the event aimed to give athletes the recognition they deserved and a platform to give exposure to their talents.
According to Potgieter, the club prides itself on the development and growth of its members.
She says, in their case, quality far outweighs quantity with regard to the athletes who are part of their club.
Some of the best ultra marathon runners in the country were awarded on the day such as Johan van der Merwe, Rufus Photo, Ludwick Mamabolo and Jane Mudau, to name a few.
