Chatterbox lands her dream job
This 20-year-old Energy FM presenter believes her bubbly personality landed her the job
POLOKWANE – Self proclaimed chatterbox and co-host of the weekend Drive Show on Energy FM, Poelano Setwaba is fast on her way to becoming a household name in the radio industry.
The 20-year-old from Tzaneen is an extrovert whose outgoing personality always plays in her favour. She describes herself as bubbly and talkative and thinks those qualities are what makes her excel at her job.
“My family members knew as the ‘radio’ of the house because I always had a story to tell,” she recalls.
She not only keeps listeners entertained on her show, she is also a student studying toward a bachelor’s degree in media studies at the University of Limpopo.
Setwaba is one of the newest members at the station and says she feels extremely lucky to be welcomed with open arms and friendly smiles.
“The best thing about being a drive presenter, especially when you’re still a newcomer in the industry, is that the listeners are intrigued to hear what you have in store for them. That drives me to keep pushing harder each day to deliver only the best to the listeners,” Setwaba continued.
She is close to her family, especially her older sister who is a lawyer and inspires her in the way she carries herself and proves that hard work actually pays off.
The young go-getter says when she is faced with situations that are beyond her control, she seeks divine intervention and that is where she finds solace.
