Mapungubwe National Park: This is an animal-rich park which features two rivers and is the former home to 11th-century civilisation.

Mapungubwe National Park, which is also the UNESCO World Heritage Site, offers you a memorable experience. This was once a capital of a country as large as Swaziland surrounded by over 200 small villages. Today the stones, bones and Baobab Trees of Mapungubwe are all that are left of this ancient civilisation in the Limpopo valleys of the Vhembe District. Archaeologists have been carefully picking over the ruins for decades that tell us the rule of the Kingdom of Mapungubwe extended from about1050 AD to 1270 AD, just when Europe was struggling through the Dark Ages and dealing with a rampant Genghis Khan. Meanwhile the most intact gold artifact, a small figurine of a rhino, the famous Golden Rhino is kept at the interpretation centre.

Mapalingwe Nature Reserve: The big five is only a few of the 36 species of mammals this 12000 ha reserve houses.

Bela Bela Forever Resort: Forever Resort is within easy reach from Johannesburg on the N1, in Bela-Bela, provides the tourist with an African bushveld atmosphere and a unique and unforgettable holiday experience.

Klein-Kariba: Is a resort that has something for everyone with a variety of activities and recreational facilities available.

The added competitive advantage is the fact that Limpopo is the only province in the country that shares boundaries with three countries, namely, Botswana, Zimbabwe and Mozambique. “This strategic location is a major boost to us as we are a gateway to other parts of our continent. We are also endowed with the wealth of culture and heritage. We call upon all the citizens of Limpopo to continue traversing their province during this festive season as that will help grow the economy of the province. We are confident that our province will once again be counted among the most visited provinces in the country at the end of the last quarter of the 2016/17 financial year. There are many other privately owned tourism products for you to choose from”, said the CEO of Limpopo Tourism Agency, Mr. Ndumiso Matlala.
