Giving pensioners a reason to smile this festive season

Pick n Pay Savannah Mall embarked on an initiative to bring smiles to pensioners’ faces.

POLOKWANE – The store treated senior citizens at the Arethekganeng Home in Zone 1 Seshego to a delicious breakfast this morning. The staff showed up with food parcels to give to the members of the home and according to Customer Service Manager Thembisile Mabunda, their customers are an important aspect of their work.

“This is a continuous initiative that we have embarked on. We have reached out to several other homes and today it was Arethekganeng’s turn. We wanted to show we really care for the pensioners,” Mabunda said.

The gesture was welcomed with open arms by the senior folk, one of which had this to say: “We are so happy because we never imagined that this would happen to us. We are glad that there are some people that don’t forget senior citizens”.
