Fill a box for the elderly

We urge residents to be part of this initiative - Project Splendor campaign organisers

POLOKWANE –  A group of residents in the city have launched a Project Splendor campaign; they collect gift boxes filled with necessities for the elderly in the city Residents are encouraged to pack a box and donate it to the cause.

The gift box, a shoe box decorated as you wish but clearly marked for a man or woman and not sealed, can be filled with the items listed below which will be handed over to someone in need.

The box must include:

  • Face cloth
  • Soap
  • Toothbrush
  • Toothpaste
  • Body lotion
  • Roll-on
  • Deodorant
  • Lip balm
  • Any sweet treat, for example chocolate or jelly babies.

The extras for a woman’s box:

  • Nail polish
  • Bead necklace
  • Hair brush
  • Socks

The extras for a man’s box:

  • Handkerchief
  • Comb
  • Manicure set
  • Razor and shaving cream
  • Socks

“Our aim is to distribute a special gift box to elderly people in our communities this festive season. We urge residents to be part of this initiative,” urged the organisers.
