Lim police constables in dock for corruption

A special Intelligence-led operation in Musina led to the arrest of the four suspects

LIMPOPO – Two police constables, one reserve police constable and one civilian were arrested yesterday (Thursday) on charges of corruption and impersonation of a police officer.

A special Intelligence-led operation in Musina led to the arrest of the four suspects aged between 28 and 46. The two constables and reserve constable face corruption charges while the civilian faces the charge of impersonating a police officer.

Provincial Commissioner LT. General Nneke Jim Ledwaba welcomed the arrests and reiterated his call to all members of the police to refrain from participating in corrupt activities because the SAPS does not have a space for corrupt elements within its ranks. He assured members of the community that the SAPS will fight corruption head-on.

The four suspects are due to appear before the Musina Magistrate’s Court today (Friday). Police investigations are ongoing.
