Eksteen’s karatekas make city proud
24 Karatekas from the Eksteen Bushido Freestyle Karate Institute recently represented Polokwane and Limpopo at the South African Goju Ryu All Styles Karate Championships which took place in Pretoria West.
POLOKWANE – As opposition, and showing great determination, the karatekas brought back an overwhelming 21 medals comprising six gold, nine silver and six bronze medals. Eksteen said: “Considering the fact that there were only Goju Ryu, JKA, JKS and Shito-Ryu referees and judges controlling the championships, Eksteen’s karatekas were the underdogs but the results speak for themselves.” Eksteen concluded that he was most satisfied with the results. The organisation is now preparing for the Tokon Shotokan All Styles Karate Federation National Championships (TSKKIA) to be held in Sun City on 8 and 9 October 2016.
