A lifetime penned in poetry

Old soul, Nelson Nemaranzhe, shares his thoughts through a poetry collection titled Kesitah Anthology

POLOKWANE- Nelson Nemaranzhe is living his dream of becoming published poet.

The 43-year-old Polokwane resident works as a Safety, Health, Environment Risk and Quality (SHERQ) compliance officer but his passion for the written word spurred him to write and eventually publish a collection of poetry.

Kesitah Anthology, was released last month to high praise. It is a collection of 72 poems which he has written over the years.

Nemaranze explains how his love for poetry began. “It started when I was a student at Unisa. I intended for a specific person, instead, I sent it to the school’s newsletter and it was published.

“People read it and were amazed at my talent and it was then that I realised what I was capable of,” Nemaranzhe explained. He says at the time, he thought his skills were rudimentary, but he worked on improving them.

According to Nemaranzhe, poetry is the easiest way of expressing oneself. He says his poetry appeals to a lot of people, both young and old. “When people read my poems, they will learn more about God and how different emotions affect our everyday lives. I hope more people will read it,” he continued.

Kesitah Anthology available for R270 and can be purchased from the author himself. Contact him at nemaranzhe@yahoo.com.

Nelson Nemaranzhe says his book will evoke different types of emotions from the reader.
