The stepping stones of a star in the making

Jimstone says he is no one-hit wonder

POLOKWANE – George Jimstone Shiburi recently dropped his debut album, Stepping Stone, which he says will wow fans.

According to the hip hop artist, the album consists of 18 tracks with the first single, One Hundred, already making waves across the country. “My music is inspired by my personal experiences and those of people I come across in life.” He says he hopes his music touches people and makes an impact on their lives.

“I want to compete with artists on a global scale while I uplift the province and its talent. I also want to pave the way for other upcoming performers.”

He says he draws inspiration from American rapper and entrepreneur Jay-Z as he appreciates the quality of the music he makes.

“I don’t want to be just a one-hit wonder, I want to make timeless music which will be legendary.”

He says the album is released under the Ninth Door Records which is founded by Theodore Manaka, however, they are now co-managing the label. The Project Management graduate says the label is currently scouting new talent and is working on the music video for One Hundred as the song has been very well received.
