LIMPOPO – A man wanted in connection with several violent crimes committed within the province has been arrested, say the police.
The intelligent-led-joint operation composed of Crime Intelligence, Detectives and Crime prevention made a major breakthrough by arresting a 40-year-old man in Mphagani village outside Giyani this morning (Monday).
He is wanted in connection with housebreaking and theft incidents in the Phalaborwa, Giyani and Tzaneen areas.
“He is also wanted on charge of possession of firearms and ammunition without licence.”
During his arrests the following items were recovered:
2x 9 .mm pistols ,3x magazines , 22x 9 mm live ammunitions ,1x nokia cellphone, 75x air time vouchers ,2x 250 ml restore plus hair, 6x 20 pack caesar gold cigarettes ,10 x 20 pack Rg cigarettes, 2x 175 g dettol soap, 2x 90 life buoy soups, 2x 90 g dettol soaps ,a pair of hand gloves. Cash in the form of coins and bank notes to the value of R875.75 was also recovered. All items and suspected stolen goods stolen during business robberies, housebreaking and theft and armed robberies.
This suspect has been terrorising Phalaborwa ,Giyani and Tzaneen areas for some months and may still be connected to more cases in other areas throughout the province.
The suspect will appear before Giyani, Phalaborwa and Tzaneen Magistrate Courts on the charges listed above. The dates have not been specified.
Police investigations are still continuing and more arrests are expected.
