POLOKWANE- Young, talented Bolivia Lodge chef, Nuriah Hamese says she enjoys receiving compliments for a dish she has created.

Hamese has been a chef for eight years and she says she enjoys being creative with food. Hamese started her career in 2005 at The Park Hotel in Mokopane, which is where she learned a lot about good food as well as serving it. “I moved to Bolivia Lodge in 2006, and this has been my home ever since then. I love to play with food, coming up with something new,” she says.

Hamese is originally from Moletjie and studied hospitality at the Senwabarwana FET campus.

“I chose hospitality studies because that is what I loved; I love food and cooking. My favourite meal to prepare is grilled chicken with greek salad,” she says.

Besides spending time in the kitchen, she enjoys travelling, watching movies and exercising.

The best meals to enjoy during hot, summer days are cold meals such as salads. “Summer is everyone’s best season, but it is always difficult to decide what to eat during summer.

“Because you do not want to eat big, heavy meals that will make you tired and lazy. There are a lot of delicious summer meals that are light but can fill you up, especially salads,” she explains.

To prepare her special delicious chicken salad you will need: sliced lettuce, sliced cucumber, grilled chicken breasts, croutons, onions, diced feta cheese, salad dressing, parsley and peppadew for garnish. Mix them together to enjoy a delicious summer chicken salad.
