Lim Endurance Challenge promises fun for everyone

Other activities on the day include a family picnic, food stalls, an arts and craft market, entertainment, and a play area for children.

POLOKWANE – The Limpopo Endurance Challenge will take the province by storm next year with three exciting challenges for locals to test their mettle in.

The Footprints Foundation, in association with the Makgoba Royal Council, will launch the Limpopo Endurance Challenge Marathon for 2017 which will consist of a 70 km ultra-marathon, a 21,1 km half marathon and a 5 km fun walk.

The 5 km fun walk has been named the King Makgoba 5 km Fun Walk in honour of the late king.

The official launch will take place on 3 September 2016 at the Magoebaskloof Hotel in Tzaneen and even though the 70 km and 21,1 km races will only take place next year, the King Makgoba 5 km Fun Walk is set to take place on 3 September.

Other activities on the day include a family picnic, food stalls, an arts and craft market, entertainment, and a play area for children.

The registration fee for the 5 km fun walk is R40 per person and R20 for children under the age of 12.

Free admission will be granted to individuals who donate a new pair of running shoes to children in need on the day of the event.

Two schools in the Mopani District have been identified as the Corporate Social Investment (CSI) beneficiaries and will receive 500 pairs of new running shoes. Govani Primary School and Sasekani High School learners will benefit from this initiative.
