Dept full prepared for trial exams – Dr Nadedzani Rasila

With thousands of Gr 12 learners gearing up for the 2016 trial exams, the Department of Education say they are ready to deal with the exam and all it may bring.

LIMPOPO – Limpopo Department of Education Spokesperson, Dr Nadedzani Rasila, says the department is fully prepared for the trial exams and they do not foresee any issues. Rasila said they have been working with learners from schools in Vuwani to help them prepare for the trial exams.

“The MEC for Education, Ishmael Kgetjepe recently visited schools in the Vuwani area where he encouraged both learners and educators to work hard to ensure schools in the area are not disrupted. The department kept close tabs on how the catch-up plan was implemented and we strongly believe the learners are prepared and will excel in the trial exams,” Rasila said.

He added the education system in South Africa makes provision for both the trial exams and the final exams later in the year. “Both exam periods are important, but learners will be equipped to conquer both sets of exams when they adopt the ‘study for trials, revise for finals’ approach. We urge learners to take the trial examinations seriously so the final exams will be easier.”

He urged learners, parents and teachers to take preparations for the trial exam just as seriously as that of the final exam, adding the trial exams serve as a good reference point for learners to see just how well they are prepared for the finals. Rasila said the trial exams will set the pace for learners to achieve maximum results in their finals and earn acceptance to universities.
