13 new players join Baroka for 2016/17 season

Baroka FC have revealed 13 new signees ahead of the 2016/17 Premier Soccer League (PSL) season

POLOKWANE – The new players include Witbank Spurs’ striker Cleopas Dube, who will likely replace last season’s top scorer, Thabiso Kutumela as he is now signed to Orlando Pirates.

Dube scored 13 goals for Spurs despite making only two starts. He came off the bench on 22 occasions.

Other signees:

  • Goalkeepers – Zakhele Ngcobo (Royal Eagles) and Innocent Mbangeni (Manco Milano).
  • Defenders – Mzwanele Mahashe (Milano United), Tshepiso Leitsisa (Witbank Spurs) and Ignitious Kgobadi (Orbit FC).
  • Midfielders – Tshepo Sediti (Orbit FC), Siphiwe Gwala (FC Cape Town), Rethabile Soso (Manco Milano), Tumelo Mogale (Roses United), James Bell (Moroka Swallows), Richard Matloga (Highlands Park) and Sipho Moeti (Moroka Swallows).

Baroka chairman, Khurishi Mphahlele, also revealed that the team will use the Peter Mokaba Sports Complex as their home ground and Giyani Stadium as the alternative home ground for the 2016/17 season.

The technical team stays as it was in the promotional league, with Kgoloko Thobejane leading the side as the head coach.

Meanwhile, Clover SA recommitted to the side as the team’s main sponsor for three years, with Two Mountains Funerals and Passion Beverages coming on as new sponsors.
