[IN PICTURES] Limpopo Knights Braai competition – 6th round

Each team worked hard to impress the judges by preparing a main meal as well as a dessert on the fire.

POLOKWANE – The participating teams for the 6th edition of the Limpopo Knight Braai Competition were Cartrack, Tracker and CJ Makelaars.

Winning menu from Team Tracker included:

Aperitif:          

Warm port with a dash of honey and cinnamon

Entrée:       

Tzatziki inspired Greek espetada with a fres cucumber salad, served with rosemary and olive oil toast:

Tzatziki marinade:  Double cream plain yoghurt, garlic, rosemary, pepper, salt and olive oil

Picanha steak

Cucumber, feta cheese with tzatziki drizzle

Toast lightly brushed with rosemary and olive oil

Dessert:            

Rich caramel pudding served with cream

 

The competition, which sees three teams of two prepare a main meal as well as a dessert on the fire with no pre-preparation, will culminate in a braai-off on Heritage Day, also known as National Braai Day on 24 September. The winners of the braai-off will  be announced at a gala function on 30 September.
