Men found with severed woman’s head appear in court

The two suspects arrested for the possession of human body parts on Sunday in the city appeared before the Polokwane Magistrate's Court on today (Tuesday), say the police.

POLOKWANE –  Matsobane Stanley Mohlake (35) and Edward Raatji (50) from Mapela, Mahwelereng were remanded in custody without bail says provincial police spokesperson, Col Moatshe Ngoepe.

The case has been postponed to 19 July.

The police made the grisly discovery after following up on information about people selling human body parts. They stopped and searched the suspects vehicle and found a woman’s head wrapped in newspaper.

Later the same day the headless burnt body of a woman was found under a bridge in Mapela,. “The woman has not been identified yet, and investigations to see if there is a link between the two cases are still underway.”
