Meet the face of CoGHSTA

He believes success does not lie in the amount of money you have but rather in the position you earn through hard work and dedication

POLOKWANE – Khathutshelo Razwiedani was recently appointed as the new Media Liaison Officer for the Department of Co-operative Governance, Human Settlement and Traditional Affairs (CoGHSTA).

Razwiedani was born in Tshimbupfe (Hanani) village, Makhado Municipality 47 years ago, but relocated to Thohoyandou in the 80’s.

He furthered his studies after high school at the University of Venda, where he qualified as an educator in 1993, however, his career was cut short due to the Rationalisation and Redeployment (RR) policy.

“It was based on the Last-In-First-Out (LIFO) principle, and I was let go,” he explains. He was encouraged to apply for a position in other government departments and was appointed as communications officer for CoGHSTA in 2003.

Razwiedani says he loves travelling. “I have never been outside South African borders, but I have travelled extensively throughout the country. I love nature and whenever I have the chance, I go for a long drive,”he says. He says he is an avid jogger and tries to go for a run every day.

According to Razwiedani, every job has its challenges and the same applies to his new position.

“I need to adjust to my new position. The current responsibility requires immense research, focus and a lot of writing. It takes up a lot of time that I may not always have,” he explains.

He believes success does not lie in the amount of money you have but rather in the position you earn through hard work and dedication.
