POLOKWANE – The rhythmic level one to six girls from Gymstars Gymnastics recently attended the Wierda Invitational in Pretoria where 34 of their gymnasts came back with a total of 34 medals – 24 gold and 10 silver.
Out of the 15 categories the gymnasts competed in, they produced a total of nine overall winners.
The results:
Level 1 u/6 : Naya Chuma – first place
Level 1 u/8: Tricia Malungana – first place, Sarome du Plessis and Buhle Mtethwa – third overall
Level 1 u/9: Kgodisho Maribeng – first place and Best Level one gymnast
Level 1 u/10: Vuksoi Malungana – third place
Level 1 over 11: Cornia Claassens – first place, Anne-Marie Herbst – second place
Level 2 u/9: Kwezi Lubisi first place and Best Level 2 gymnast, Jonelrie Botha – third place
Level 2 over 11: Corlette Sedikana – first place
Level 3 u/11: Kgansi Mohalal – second place, Carmen Braack – third place
Level 3 over 11: Karla Vorster – first place
Level 4 u/13: Micaela Wood – first place
Level 6 u/15: Lize van Ryneveld – first place, Chante Serfontein – third place
Gold medal winners:

The Gymstars tumblers competed in their first competition, hosted by Eagle Tumbling Club in Benoni where they also took a number of top positions.

Level 3 Boys u/13: Aljay Lucas – third place, JC Logtenberg – fifth place
Level 3 Boys u/12: Wihan Logtenberg – first place
Level 3 Boys u/8: Andru de Beer – first place
Level 3 Boys u/9: Durandt Boshoff – first place
Level 2 Boys u/9: Jordan Lucas – second place
Level 2 Boys over 11: Boikanyo Hlongwane – fifth place
