Kremetart Cycle Road Race results
Cyclists from around the country came to compete in the annual Kremetart Cycle Race which took place at Hoërskool Louis Trichardt on Saturday and Sunday. Results for the race are as follows.
POLOKWANE – This challenge is regarded as one of Limpopo’s biggest cycling races and it has grown in leaps and bounds over its 27 years of existence. It has attracted cyclists and supporters from all walks of life both locally and internationally.
The race was divided into four stages which equalled a total distance of 175 km. The first stage, which was 53 km, started at the Louis Trichardt Info Centre and proceeded to Waterpoort, where the second stage, which was 48 km, started and ended at Vivo.
The 52 km third was from Vivo to Schoemansdal, with the last 22 km stage from Schoemansdal back to Louis Trichardt. There was also a 70 km road race, 10 km fun ride and a kiddies ride.
The race was attended by well-known cyclists and celebrities such as Casper Moodie, Nico Bell, Lynette Burger, Desray Sebregts, An-Li Kachelhoffer, David Maree, and Nolan Hoffman among others. The entry fee for the 175 km stage race was R550, R200 for the 70 km road race, R50 for the kiddies and fun ride and R200 for the Total Mountain Bike Cross Country race. The first leg of the 175 km race started at 06:40. The 70 km race started at 08:30, and the 10 km fun ride and kiddies race started at 09:00.
Starting times on Sunday were 08:00 for nippers, 08:45 for sprogs and sub juniors, 10:00 for youth men and women (16 years and younger), master men and women (50 years and older), grand master men and women (60 years and older). The junior men and women (18 years and younger). The u/23 men (19-23), elite men (23 to 29) and women (19-29), sub veteran men and women (30-39), and veteran men and women (40-49) race started at 11:00.
