Drunk driver knocks down mom and 2 kids
Two children were killed while their mother is in a critical condition.
POLOKWANE – Two children were killed while their mother is in a critical condition after an alleged drunk driver knocked them down next to the Seshego circle last night.
The accident happened at 21:00.
Seshego police spokesperson, WO Mothemane Malefo, said police investigations were underway.
says the two children were crossing the road with their mother when the vehicle hit them.
“The children were certified dead on the scene by paramedics and their mother was rushed to a nearby hospital with critical injuries. She is still in hospital and her condition is stable but critical,” Malefo reports.
He added that a 49-year-old man was arrested in connection with the accident for driving under the influence of alcohol. Malefo went on to say that, “the man is still in police custody and will appear before the Seshego Magistrate’s Court soon. We are also investigating a case of culpable homicide.”
