‘Bad smell’ ruins family day

Residents say there has been a stench in Holland Street in Eduan Park since late Sunday afternoon

POLOKWANE – Residents in Holland Street spent Sunday morning and evening with the stench of sewer water over their homes.

On the afternoon of Sunday, 27 March a sewerage drain started to overflow, with a stream of sewer water running along the street into a storm water drain.

“How are we supposed to share a meal with our families on Family Day with the stench in our noses?  is family day and we cannot have our family braai because of the smell, and the Polokwane Municipality could not care less,” Tinus le Roux, a resident told Review.

Review tried to contact the municipality about the issue and the call was only answered on the fourth attempt only to be told that there was limited staff working and that the issue would be attended to when someone was available.
