ROAD CLOSURE: Parts of Dorp Street closed off due to road works for BRT system upgrades

Roadworks in Dorp Street that started on Monday is part of the municipal infrastructure development project towards the operation of the Bus Rapid Transit (BRT) system.

POLOKWANE –  The roadworks will continue until mid April.
Mantlako Sebaka, the Spokesperson for the Municipal Transport Services, confirmed that the roadworks begin at the corner of Bodenstein and Dorp Streets up until the corner of Suid and Dorp Streets.
“The only road closure due to the roadworks is from the corner of Marshall and Dorp Streets to the corner of Suid and Dorp Street. The rest of Dorp Street is open for traffic while roadworks are in progress. Motorists are advised to use alternative routes for the affected parts of Dorp Street as that section is only open to residents who live in the area.
“We appeal to motorists and residents to please be patient with us and we apologise for any inconvenience. If there are no delays, like rain, we hope to finish the roadworks in Dorp Street within the next four weeks,” Sebaka said.
