Subaru models recalled for potentially defective airbags

Subaru Impreza and WRX models from 2004 to 2007 are being recalled for safety inspections and potential replacement of the front passenger airbag modules

POLOKWANE – In light of the recent news of Takata’s potentially defective airbags, Subaru Impreza and WRX models from 2004 to 2007 are being recalled for safety inspections and potential replacement of the front passenger airbag modules.

Owners of these models are currently being contacted by Subaru South Africa to arrange convenient inspections and replacement where necessary.

Owners are also urged to check whether their vehicles are affected via an easy VIN-checker on the Subaru South Africa website. Owners need to simply input their vehicle identification number (VIN) and should their car be affected, fill out a contact form so that their nearest Subaru dealership can contact them to arrange the inspection and replacement.

Marketing manager of Subaru Southern Africa, Ashley Lazarus remarks: “vehicle safety is in our DNA and we take any defects such as these quite seriously, so we’re assisting affected customers as quickly and conveniently as possible to ensure continuous confidence in motion”.

Customers can visit www.subaru.co.za/recall to read more on the process and to check if their vehicles are affected.
