Mgidi, Fatane murder suspects likely to spend their Christmas behind bars

The trial dates for the Charles Mgidi and Gideon Fatane murder cases have been set for 2016.

MOKOPANE – The trial dates for the Charles Mgidi and Gideon Fatane murder cases have been set for 2016. This was decided in the Mokopane Magistrate’s Court this morning (Thursday).

Samuel Matjila and Patrick Sekhu, two of the suspects in the Mgidi case, will reappear before the court on 21 December when they re-apply for bail based on new facts.

Mgidi was shot and killed on 4 April and Matjila, Sekhu and Desmond Machaba were arrested the same day.

Their trial date have been set for 3 to 13 May 2016 in the Polokwane High Court.

Thabo Matlaila and Charles Mogale were arrested for the murder of Gideon Fatana, who was shot in front of his house in Fourie Street on 27 March.

Matlaila and Mogale’s trail date have been set in the Polokwane High Court for 31 May to 10 June 2016.
