LIMPOPO – One of the six suspects arrested in connection with the murder of a Bela Bela game farmer, Piet Venter, on Saturday appeared before the Bela Bela Magistrates Court on Monday said the Limpopo police.
“facing the charges of murder and possession of suspected stolen property, Reuben Miles (29) from Bela Bela Spar Park, appeared alone before the court and his case was remanded to 24 November for a formal bail application,” said Col Malesela Ledwaba.
The deceased, Piet Venter, was according to information asleep when the suspects forced their way into his house. Miles was apprehended in Bela Bela a few hours later while the last five suspects were arrested Saturday night.
“One of the suspects was arrested at Rooiberg , one more at Bela Bela and the other three in Pretoria, Gauteng Province.”
The remaining five will appear before the court today.
“They are facing a cases of murder, possession of unlicensed fire arm, ammunition as well as suspected stolen property,” concludes Ledwaba.
