Mgidi, Fatane murder case postponed to 19 Nov

The suspects in the Charles Mgidi and Sello Gideon Fatane murder case appeared before the Mokopane Magitrate's Court on Wednesday morning

THE suspects in the Charles Mgidi and Sello Gideon Fatane murder case appeared before the Mokopane Magistrate’s Court on Wednesday morning.

The case was postponed to 19 November for the state to furbish the defense attorneys with further particulates.

Outside the magistrate’s court, women were dressed in black surrounding a coffin. “We are mourning the death of husbands, fathers and friends. Justice should prevail,” one of the women said.

Mgidi was shot on 4 April in front of a filling station in Nelson Mandela Drive and died on his way to hospital. Samuel Matjila, Desmond Machaba and Patrick Sekhu, all well-known taxi-owners and businessmen were arrested the same day.

Fatane was shot and killed on 27 March in front of his house in Fourie Street. Thabo Matlaila and Charles Mogale were arrested for his murder and it is alleged that there is a link between the two cases as Machaba is also involved in the Fatane case.
