All-new Figo is a real trendsetter

Ford is set to redefine the Sub-B compact car segment with the launch of its all-new Ford Figo.

Ford is set to redefine the Sub-B compact car segment with the launch of its all-new Ford Figo.

It offers trend-setting technologies, smart design and surprising levels of space and comfort.

Ford aims with the new Figo hatch and sedan to raise the bar in the compact car class while retaining this model’s established reputation for exceptional value and efficiency.

The all-new Figo is characterised by its striking, elegant design with eye-catching styling which is derived from Ford’s Kinetic 2.0 design language, as seen on the latest Ford Fusion and Focus models.

The sophisticated and stylish exterior of the all-new Figo is matched by a modern interior that delivers an extraordinary experience for a compact car.

Intelligent and careful space management creates a surprisingly roomy cabin emphasising quality, comfort and convenience.

Ample legroom gives the front passenger space to stretch out, while enabling even taller drivers to achieve the ideal driving position.

Rear-seat passengers will appreciate the all-new Figo’s roominess that allows for three adults to sit side-by-side with plenty of head and shoulder room.

Up to 445 litres of luggage space is available in the boot of the all-new Figo Sedan, with fold-down rear seats increasing loading capacity and versatility.

The seat-backs of the all-new hatch (Trend and Titanium) boast a 60/40 split for greater flexibility.

Reflecting the growing need for consumers to stay connected at all times, the all-new Figo features exceptional smart technologies that help customers integrate their car more easily into their digital lives.

MyFord Dock®, a first-in-class feature and standard in the Ambiente and Trend spec vehicles, offers drivers a unique solution for storing, mounting and charging mobile phones, MP3 players and satellite navigation systems, and for integrating these devices into the car’s entertainment system.

When not in use, the dock can be closed out of sight.

Consumers seeking even greater technological integration will benefit from the fitment of SYNC®, Ford’s advanced in-car connectivity system.

This is a standard equipment on the Figo Titanium.

SYNC® lets drivers interact with their mobile devices and entertainment system with voice commands while keeping their hands on the wheel and eyes on the road.

Through innovations like SYNC® and the MyFord Dock®, Ford is bringing advanced connectivity technologies to more consumers.

On the Ambiente and Trend models, a standard four-speaker audio system is provided that includes a radio/CD unit with MP3-compatibility, Bluetooth connectivity, as well as USB and Aux inputs.

The Titanium further gains remote audio controls on the steering wheel.

The all-new Figo Titanium features six airbags, including side and curtain airbags, for an outstanding level of protection.

All the models are equipped with ABS brakes, while the all-new Figo Titanium PowerShift Auto incorporates Electronic Stability Program (ESP) with Hill Launch Assist that holds the vehicle for up to three seconds as the driver’s foot moves from the brake to the accelerator.

The new Figo has been designed and engineered to offer precise, agile and responsive steering, and stable, predictable handling.

This performance is made possible by the Electronic Power Assisted Steering (EPAS).

The EPAS provides a lighter steering effort at low speeds – for parking and in-city manoeuvring – and heavier, more precise feel at high speeds for greater stability and confidence on highways.

The new Figo is available with two engines, including a 1.5-litre four-cylinder petrol option.

This unit generates 82 kW of power, matched to 136 Nm of torque.

It delivers a combined cycle fuel consumption of 5.6l per 100 km.

The diesel models are powered by a 1.5-litre Duratorq TDCi engine.

The engine develops 74 kW and 215 Nm of torque.

Tuned to provide peak torque at just 1 750 rpm, this engine is designed for responsive performance matched to frugal consumption.

This is confirmed by Ford showing an average fuel consumption rating of 4.1l per 100 km.

The manual derivatives feature a five-speed gearbox, while Ford’s advanced six-speed PowerShift Auto transmission is available on the 1.5 Titanium, in both hatchback and sedan guises.

The PowerShift dual-clutch system combines the performance and efficiency of a manual transmission with the convenience of an automatic.
