Brace yourself for another water shortage

Water shortages have been reported in some areas in the city and according to the Polokwane municipality will most likely last throughout the evening.

POLOKWANE –  Water shortages have been reported in some areas in the city and according to the Polokwane municipality will most likely last throughout the evening.

Maintenance work was done at the Ebernezer Plant yesterday and during this a water leak on the line to Polokwane was identified.
To repair the water leak the system at the Ebernezer Plant had to be shut down, which results in the high lying areas going without water.

The areas affected include:

Bendor, Flora Park, Fuana Park, Serala view, and some parts of Ster Park.

Matshidiso Mothapo, a municipal spokesperson, said that Lepelle Northern Waters are working on the problem and water supply should be restored by tomorrow morning.

“There are water tankers supplying water to affected areas to bring temporarily relieve,” Mothapo said.

“The tankers will move around affected areas from 16:00 to 22:00.”
