Activities at all the Tshwane University of Technology’s campuses will resume on Monday, 2 November 2015 (today).

POLOKWANE – Activities at all the Tshwane University of Technology’s campuses will resume on Monday, 2 November 2015 (today).

“All staff members are expected to report for duty and students must resume their academic activities on Monday 2 November,” said Tshwane University of Technology (TUT) in a statement last week.

Due to protests action at the Pretoria (West) GaRankuwa and Shoshanguve campuses last Thursday, this after successful talks between Tshwane University of Technology (TUT) management and students leaders, it was decided to postpone classes once again – all classes at TUT campuses would resume Monday 2 November (today).

“Management of the Tshwane University of Technology on 29 October obtained an urgent High Court interdict that prevents the respondents (structures and individuals) and their supporters from, among others, taking part in or instigating disruptive or riotous behaviour that infringes the rights of any staff member, student or visitor to TUT’s premises.”
“The interdict, which will be enforced, also directs the SAPS and/or the Public Order Policing unit to take the necessary measures to ensure compliance.”
“Talks with the CSRC will be suspended until the situation has normalised,” concludes the statement.
With regards to the academic recovery plan, please take note that the re-examination date has changed, following consultations with the Executive Deans and the CSRC

Activities at the campus will resume as follows:
• All academic and support staff will resume their duties on Monday, 2 November 2015.
• All academic activities (students back in class) will resume on Monday, 2 November 2015.
