EFF’s court order against legislature dismissed

The Polokwane high court has dismissed the EFF’s court order against the Limpopo Legislature

POLOKWANE – The Polokwane high court has dismissed the EFF’s court order against the Limpopo Legislature.

The court order interdicted the Limpopo Legislature from proceeding to debate the motion tabled during the sitting of Thursday, 27 August to remove the speaker, Merriam Ramadwa, and nullified the decision of the house to adopt such a motion.

The EFF was an applicant in this high court order after opposition party members of the legislature, the DA, EFF and Cope walked out during a sitting.

After the court order was dismissed, the ANC made a new motion in the house yesterday that the speaker be removed.

The house will debate this motion next Tuesday.
