Meet the new ANC Provincial Treasurer

ANC's newly elected Provincial Treasurer, Danny Msiza, who was introduced to the media on Tuesday morning.

POLOKWANE – “Being a member of the ANC is akin to servanthood. We are in the ANC to serve.”

These are the words of the ANC’s newly elected Provincial Treasurer, Danny Msiza, who was introduced to the media on Tuesday morning.

Msiza’s new appointment comes after the passing of Thembi Newdamutswu. Over the past weekend, the ANC in Limpopo held its Provincial General Council (PGC) where structures of the ANC in Limpopo voted for preferred candidates to fill the vacancy.

Danny Msiza emerged victorious after the majority of the delegates felt he was the right candidate for the coveted position.

Nocks Seabi, ANC Provincial Secretary ‘he is an integral part of the ANC in Limpopo’

“Comrade Danny Msiza is a seasoned cadre who has dedicated the better part of his adult life to the liberation movement,” said Nocks Seabi, ANC Provincial Secretary.

Msiza’s involvement with the ANC dates back to early in die 1980s when he was elected as the first president of the Motetema Youth Congress. In 1984 he was recruited into the underground structures of Umkhonto we Sizwe and upon returning from exile in 1992, he served in ANC structures within Sekhukhune.

Since then, Msiza has been an integral part of the ANC in Limpopo, serving in various capacities within the Limpopo Provincial Government. He remains committed to the ANC and is a selfless member of the party, according to Seabi.

On why he thinks he is the best candidate for the job, Msiza said his appointment is a reflection of his loyalty and membership to the ANC and that is why he was assigned the responsibility.

His experience from the corporate world will also give him a slight advantage in ensuring the ANC is on a sustained financial sitting through fiscal discipline. Msiza said he aims to raise funds in a sustainable manner and in doing that, he will ensure that the ANC is well-resourced.

“We will further enhance our financial systems with prudent management,” he emphasised. Working in this position, according to Msiza, is to serve the people with honour and humility and it is his responsibility to make sure everything runs smoothly through hard work and a concerted effort.
