POLOKWANE – Anyone still experiencing water shortages  are requested to report the issue to the municipality at (015) 290 2376/2001/2002.

Power supply problems that led to a water shortage in high lying areas in the city was rectified on Sunday afternoon, said  municipal spokesperson, Tidimalo Chuene.

“Lepelle Northern Water announced on Sunday afternoon that water supply challenges experienced at the Olifantspoort Plant have been sorted.”

“Water is being pumped to  reservoirs in  Polokwane although levels are still very low.”

“Areas that were affected by the shortage are presently receiving water with low pressure . It is expected for normal pressure to pick up later  Sunday evening,” explained Chuene.

Residents are still advised to limit water consumption to immediate household needs and avoid irrigation of gardens and washing cars.
