POLOKWANE – Maruschka Robinson, the 24-year-old former Gauteng strip-club employee who was arrested last week in connection with the murder of widower Dunstan Blom (36), whose decomposing body was found in the boot of his car in the parking lot at Montecasino, hails from Polokwane.

According to one of her former classmates, Robinson matriculated from a local high school in 2007.

Gauteng police spokesperson, Lt Col Lungelo Dlamini, said Robinson and her friend Jean-Pierre Malan appeared before the Randburg magistrate’s court last week in connection with the murder.

He confirmed that Blom, who was last seen on September 17 in Olivedale, was found dead in the boot of his vehicle after security personnel who were alerted by the smell emanating from the car, called the police.

Robinson, who has a three-year old daughter, and Malan, will remain in custody until they appear before court again on October 2 for a bail hearing.

Dlamini declined to confirm or deny the reports that money had been withdrawn several times from the murdered man’s bank account after his disappearance, saying the matter was still under investigation. He added that more arrests were expected.
