Report misuse of disabled parking with hotline

People who see red when drivers park illegally in disabled bays can still have them reported and towed by phoning the national hotline number 086-167-2226.

NATIONAL – People who see red when drivers park illegally in disabled bays can still have them reported and towed by phoning the national hotline number 086-167-2226.

This hotline was established last year by the South African Community Action Network (SACAN). The national hotline was set up in a bid to curtail illegal parking in bays reserved for disabled people.

According to network spokesman Lachlan Nicholson, the South African Community Action Network will contact the shopping centre’s management or the police to remove vehicles from bays designed for disabled drivers. He further said that if centre management ignored the call,  the network would call police to remove the vehicle.
