SPCA to open up charity shop

An SPCA charity shop will soon be opening it's doors in Savannah Mall. Committee ask residents for donations...

POLOKWANE – It’s another first for Savannah Mall and the city with the opening of an SPCA charity shop, which will open in the mall soon.

This shop will be located on the ground level next to Mugg&Bean, opposite the Post Office.

“Savannah Mall graciously provided us with this valuable space after an extensive search for a central location for our shop. In order to ensure a successful shop, we urge residents to give donations in the form of books and clothing which will be sold in the charity shop.

“The shop will be run by volunteers, and anybody who has visited any of the other SPCA charity shops scattered through South Africa will give testimony as to the enjoyment these shops provide, especially for book lovers,” said Debbie Mouton, an SPCA committee member.

According to Tania le Roux, another committee member, they still needed a cash register and shop window signage.

Donations can be dropped off between 09:00 and 15:00 at the SPCA offices, Plot 46 on the Roodepoort road or at the Polokwane Civil Airport on the Silicon Road, room 4.

The SPCA committee hopes to use the money the shop generates to create a safe area where people can take their dogs for a walk as well as, in the future, a clinic for the animals.

Cash contributions are also welcome and can be made to:
