Patel bail’s application continued this morning in Polokwane magistrates court.

Mark van Drunick, state prosecutor called a new witness, WO Thupetsi Magaoi. He is the forensic officer and carried out the tests on the accused and deceased’s hands.

Magoai firstly testified that the gun shot residue was found on Patel’s hands,Tumi Mokwena, Patel’s lawyer objected, and said he had no knowledge of these results. He wanted time to study these results and discuss it with his client.

In the cross examination, Magaoi admitted that the tests results were incorrectly read,  the numbers on the evidence bags were misread by himself and Van Drunick. The report actually read that Patel’s hands tested negative and the gun shot residue was found on Fatima’s hands.
