Patel bail hearing continues

Const David Nkuna, the investigating officer in the Fatima Patel murder case testified again in court on Wednesday.

POLOKWANE – Const David Nkuna, the investigating officer in the Fatima Patel murder case testified again in court on Wednesday.
His first appearance was ended due to time constraints and he asked to be allowed to continue giving evidence only after May 19, as he was writing exams.
Compelled to come and testify earlier in the month, he collapsed in court.
By lunchtime on Wednesday, Nkuna was still being cross-examined by murder accused Rameez Patel’s lawyer, Tumi Mokoena, who alleged that the investigation was so poor that there was no evidence Rameez had killed his wife.
Magistrate Mohamed Shaik adjourned the court for some time and court officials, as well as journalists, visited the crime scene during the morning.
In the afternoon, Nkuna’s cross-examination continued at the courthouse.
Wednesday and Thursday were put aside for concluding Rameez’s bail hearing.
