[TAKE NOTE] These Polokwane streets to be closed tomorrow
The road closures are due to the State of the City Address.
POLOKWANE – Municipal spokesperson Thipa Selala has urged residents to avoid a number of streets that will be closed tomorrow (June 24).
In a statement, Selala explained that some of these streets will be closed for most of the day, while others will be closed periodically.
“The address will be held at the Jack Botes Hall and thus Bodenstein Street will be closed from Schoeman Street to Church Street from 07:30 until the end of the event,” he said and explained that there is no set time for the conclusion of the event.
The streets and intersections that will be closed periodically are:
- Landdros Maré from Excelsior to Bodenstein streets;
- Schoeman Street from Jorrisen and Bodenstein streets; and
- The corner of Bodenstein and Market streets.
Selala added that both parking areas next to the new Council Chamber and Department of Transport and
Community Safety will also be barricaded and inaccessible to the public for the duration of the event.
“Residents are urged to use alternative routes and avoid the affected streets,” he concluded.
