JUST IN: One dead after robbery at Polokwane car dealership

Another man was arrested near the Peter Mokaba Stadium after fleeing in one of the dealership's vehicles.

POLOKWANE – One man was killed during an armed robbery at a luxury vehicle dealership in the city earlier today (April 4).

Unconfirmed reports suggest an armed man entered the dealership and called for those inside to lay on the floor.

The victim’s niece told the Polokwane Review that he was shot twice in the chest. He was declared dead on the scene.

The suspect apparently demanded a key to one of the new vehicles from the dealer principal and fled the scene.

He was caught and arrested near the Peter Mokaba Stadium. Police and local security services were on the scene.

Comment could not immediately be sourced from the dealer principal.

This is a developing story and more details will follow.
