Limpopo Premier visits family of abducted boys

A family representative said they have since yesterday received immeasurable support from all corners of the country.

POLOKWANE – Limpopo Premier Chupu Stanley Mathabatha visited the Moti family today, and said he was deeply concerned about the spate of violence against women and children in the province.

There is still no information about the whereabouts of the Moti family’s four sons, who were abducted on their way to school yesterday morning.

Accompanied by the MEC for Safety, Mavhungu Lerule-Ramakhanya, and the MEC for Social Development, Nkakareng Rakgoale, the premier reiterated that law enforcement will bring the perpetrators to book.

“As Provincial Government, we are appalled by these ruthless deeds and we shall not rest until these criminals face the wrath of the law,” Mathabatha said.

A spokesperson for the Moti family expressed their gratitude for the premier’s visit as well as for the prayers from all corners of the province.

Phillip Smit, the family’s legal representative was quoted as saying that people from all corners of the country are offering assistance. “We have received hundreds of phone calls. We just need the boys back. That is all we are praying for,” he said.
