Sanitary towels donation to those in need

Kwatloe Projects donated sanitary towels to 40 female students at Gondeni Student Village in Annadale.

POLOKWANE – The handover took place on September 30 and was an answered prayer to the needs of students who come from underprivileged backgrounds.

Kwatloe Projects director and project manager Rendani Nematswerani explained that the aim of the donation is to undo the injustice of female students who miss classes because of their menstrual cycle.

“We take into consideration that these students come from different backgrounds and access to sanitary towels should not be taken for granted. We hope the donation will ensure that no student misses a class as a result of not having sanitary towels,” he said.

Nematswerani pledged that this would not be a once-off initiative, and that they would assist the students with sanitary towels on a monthly basis. “We hope that by donating these sanitary towels, the students will have one less thing to worry about when it comes to their monthly expenses and put more focus on their academic studies,” he added.

Mahlatse Mphego, a recipient of the sanitary pads, stated that she is grateful for the sanitary pads because it means that she has one less expense on her monthly budget.

“Thank you for the contribution. Don’t just do it for Gondeni Student Village, may you also do it for other students at the other residences as well,” she said.
