Fusion Boutique Hotel wins Lilizela Award

POLOKWANE – Fusion Boutique Hotel was named the best five star hotel in South Africa at the recent Lilizela Tourism Awards, which was held in Johannesburg.

The Lilizela Award recognises and rewards tourism players and businesses who work passionately and with pride to deliver a world class product and service and whose delivery grows South Africa’s global destination competitiveness.

Fusion Boutique Hotel was awarded for service excellence and for being the best five-star hotel in South Africa.

The hotel celebrated the award on Wednesday, where they honoured the staff for a job well done.

Guests at the celebration included the Polokwane mayor, Thembi Nkadimeng and the MEC of economic development, tourism and environmental affairs, Seaparo Sekoati.

Maria Du Plessis, the owner of Fusion Boutique Hotel, said she was delighted to receive the award.

“The Lilizela Tourism Award is a truly prestigious award and we are honored to have won this title. South Africa has many beautiful hotels and to be named the winner of the five star category is a great achievement. It takes a lot of skilled people to build a winning team and as a result, I would like to dedicate this award to the staff for putting the hotel on the map. I would also like to thank all the staff for their effort, hard work, and loyalty and for making Fusion a success,” she said.

Nkadimeng said she was honoured to be part of a winning team.

“The province has been marked as one of the best tourism destinations in the country. We are now working towards achieving our 2030 vision which is building a smart city,” said Nkadimeng.

Fusion Boutique Hotel staff received certificates as a token of appreciation for a job well done. Du Plessis said the staff were awarded every time the hotel won an award.

Fusion Boutique Hotel won the AA Golden Achiever Award in 2010 and 2011 and the World Luxury Hotel Award for four consecutive years from 2010.
