Details emerge of shooting incident in Polokwane CBD
Police shed clarity on the incident which wreaked havoc in the CBD earlier.

[UPDATE] One dead in Polokwane CBD shooting, says the police.ÂThe police are investigating one death, that of a 32-year-old woman, after a shooting incident in the parking garage on the corner of Grobler and Landdros Maré streets, earlier this afternoon.
In a statement issued late Thursday evening, the police confirmed one person was shot and killed during the incident, not two people as previously stated by the authorities on the scene of the crime.
The woman was with an unknown man when she was shot several times, allegedly by her husband (34).Â

POLOKWANE – Police Spokesperson, Brig Motlafela Mojapelo has confirmed that a man has been apprehended for the murder of two people.
According to Mojapelo, preliminary reports indicate that the man found a woman, believed to be his wife, in a car with another man. Mojapelo said it cannot be confirmed at this stage whether this woman was indeed his wife.
The man will be charged with two counts of murder.Â

POLOKWANE – Traffic is severely backed-up on Landdros Maré Street, after a man attempted to take his own life by jumping off a building in the CBD.Â
Landdros Maré Street between Jorrisen and Grobler streets were closed, however, it has since been opened but motorists are urged to avoid the area as a lot of pedestrians are still in the area.Â

Reports suggests that the man first shot his wife and child, before attempting to jump from the building. The man has since been taken into custody.
